Confession: I'm not a huge fan of Nicki Minaj. “Not a fan” loosely translating to “If only I were deaf right now…” However, the NC Remix, caught my eye for a couple reasons.
1) I didn't turn it off. Mostly because it's very well done and catchy.
2)”NC” is Nicole Chen, a Singapore based DJ who is, ahem, female. In fact, she was the first female DJ in Singapore.
3) Nicole Chen is also a model who won the 2007 Miss Earth Singapore pageant and been in various tv shows. In other words she has a lot going on and she's fantastic looking.
Before the train derails and you purists leap all over me – give it a listen. You can tell NC is a person who takes the music seriously and has put in a LOT of time to get it right… unlike other wannabes who shall remain nameless. Women are really underrepresented as djs, not to tear it down, but that's because a lot of them outright suck. NC is not one them though. I LOVED her live sets on soundcloud and youtube. Bottom line – I'm nominating this as my choice for our Best of Electro competition.
