Today, a local newspaper in Narrabri Shire in Australia printed an article announcing that Daft Punk would premiere their new album “Random Access Memories” in their very town at the Wee Waa Showground. According to the article, Sony Music contacted the mayor of the county, asking to for permission to perform, and of course he said yes. Although the news is unfortunate for all of us not in close proximity to Narrabri Shire County, it would be a practical end to a rather quirky marketing strategy and launch of the new album. Only 4,000 tickets will be available for the what's going to undoubtedly be the show of a lifetime. I'm jealous already. Read more on the worldwide launch here.
