Slacker Radio has announced that they will be focusing on a new feature called the Engagement Quotient or EQ which will make the Slacker the first online streaming service to use user data to define how people are listening to music while using their service. Spotify not too long ago did release a Top 50 Streamed Chart, but Slacker Radio is the first to implement stats based on engagement itself.
Here are some of the factors that Slacker Radio will consider for their EQ charts:
Starts – The number of times a song was played
Completes – The number of times a song completed playing
Hearts – The number of times a user “hearts” a track
Shares – The number of times a user shares a song via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, Pinterest or Email
Skips – The number of times a song was skipped
Changes – The number of times a user changes the station
Bans – The number of times a song or artist is banned from playing again on Slacker Radio.
