I-Mego is one of the newest companies to come into the headphone/audio market. Starting just one year ago, they have already won 3 awards for their ZTONE in-ear headphones containing custom-molded ear gels to ensure a secure fit, as well as genuine silver cables to increase the audio signal.
Their Throne line of headphones (Poison and Gold), on the other hand, are their over-the-ear model with the focus on tailoring the headphone to fit the user’s music preference. The Throne Gold Headphones boast superior bass intended for rock, R&B, and hip-hop, while the Poison’s focus on bringing the lyric and acoustic sets to life through their excellent audio clarity.
Looking at the tech specs on the site you will not be able to note any difference between these two headphones until you get to the Frequency Response section which shows how the range of each headphone differs slightly at the higher Hz levels
Included in each box you will find:
- Premium over-ear headphones
- Integrated one-button Microphone on 4′ cable
- 1/4″ (6.3mm) stereo adaptor
- Nokia phone adaptor
- Soft travel pouch
My initial reaction after seeing these headphones was a bit mixed; as I really liked the 1950’s microphone look that ear pieces had, while I was not as fond of the Ed-Hardy/Gothic style stitching on the headband. After trying them on, I couldn’t help but notice that although they are “over-ear” headphones, they didn’t exactly encompass my ears; but the premium leather and pillow soft foam did Make Up for the on-ear “issue”. The lack of tension coming from the headband going into the ear pieces along with the padded comfort of the premium leather enables you to listen all day long without your ears hurting.
Pros:
- Comfortable
- Superior Sound Quality
- Built in Microphone
- Retro 1950’s Microphone style
Cons:
- Gothic/Ed Hardy Stitching at top of Headband
