Super8 & Tab are a trance duo from Finland. Super8 otherwise known as Miika Eloranta and Tab otherwise known as Janne Mansnerus teamed up back in 2005 and since released many hit tracks including “First Aid,” “Worldwide,” “Black Is The New Yellow,” “Empire,” “Awakenings” and many many more.
EDM Sauce: First of all Super8 & Tab, we're big fans of your over here at EDM Sauce. Are you familiar with us by any chance?
Super8 & Tab: Of course. One of our favourite EDM sources.
EDM Sauce: We recently got turned on to Supertab Radio and are in love with the podcast. Tell us a bit about your podcast, your goals with it, how often you do new shows and where your inspiration comes from for the songs you choose?
Super8 & Tab: On Supertab Radio you can hear the very latest tracks in trance and progressive house. The show is aired every two weeks and it represent the sound we play during our gigs but also tracks that we love but not might really fit our sets. You can hear it on Mixcloud and Soundcloud or listen it on various radio stations around the globe.
EDM Sauce: We saw you play at Circuit Grounds at EDC this past weekend, what was your experience like playing here.
Super8 & Tab: It was our second time at EDC Las Vegas and it's always an unforgettable experience for DJs as well as for the audience to be there. The production and atmosphere is unique.
EDM Sauce: With your upcoming tours, which is a location you look forward to playing most?
Super8 & Tab:We have quite interesting dates booked to our calendar from Ibiza to Dance Valley in Netherlands and South West 4 in London. We are also really excited to be back North America in September. Dates will be released soon. Can't really pinpoint just one we are excited about–they're all going to be great!
EDM Sauce: Tell us a bit about your view on trance and where you see it progressing to?
Super8 & Tab: We have a long history in trance and we have always been taking ideas from here and vibes from there, but morphing it with current sounds. Even if trance has always been evolving, the last two years have had the most dramatic change in sound, but it feels we have come to a more stable era now. It feels like trance has found its new path, which sounds a bit more progressive and slower than few years back.
EDM Sauce: How is the “EDM” scene out in Finland?
Super8 & Tab: Finland use to be really trance-centric, but now it is more shattered. There's lots of big house names visiting Helsinki, but trance still has its place in Finns' hearts.
