Labor Day weekend is supposed to be a 3 day mecca of no work, sunshine, and a final farewell to summer. Crowds rushed to Randalls Island, New York this weekend for the extremely huge Electric Zoo Festival. Unfortunately the mayors office was forced to cancel day 3 due to two drug overdoses. It has been all over the news and even featured an article in the New York Times, thankfully for the EDM community trap star Brillz brought some light to a weekend turned to darkness.
Read the entire post below from Facebook where he talks about peer pressure and his own experience with drugs. He is even quoted saying, “To me “Turning Up” isn't about getting fucked up anymore. Turning Up is about pure energy – its about getting as hype as I can get – its about writing the hardest banger I can write – its about throwing down the hardest set I can throw down – its about working as hard as I can work – its about dancing as hard as I can possibly dance. Its about being the best artist I can be. Its about being the best friend that I can be. Its about being the best HUMAN I can be.”
It is extremely refreshing to see a rising star in this scene with so much wisdom and a good head on his shoulders. While your on his page give him a like too… His talent is raw but after something like this the guy should just flat out be respected…
