Dim Mak Records, the label created by Steve Aoki, brought back “Dim Mak Sundays” two days ago at Create LA in Hollywood to an impressive turnout. Dim Mak, with support from Insomniac and SBE, made this a special opening night with performances from Tai, Felix Cartal, and ETC! ETC!. Create LA is a very unique dance club with a bit of a retro 80's vibe to match excellent modern lighting and design.
For the past three years, Drais in Hollywood hosted Dim Mak Sundays but this was the first at Create LA. Dim Mak teamed up with We Are Matik to create a Boombox Flugtag (shown below) for the September 21st Red Bull Flugtag Event in Long Beach, where contestants fly their team-powered flying machines over a 30-foot ramp into the Long Beach harbor. The boombox sat in front of guests at Create LA Sunday night and allowed anyone to spray paint their own design on the artwork (to be featured at the show).
