The DJ and music producer claims that he never told BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat that it was okay for DJs to pre-record their sets. According to The Guardian, Calvin Harris is considering suing BBC over a story where BBC misused his interview and input their own words. Calvin Harris wrote “”The audio where I say [that] doesn't fucking exist and I don't know ANY DJ that actually does that.”
The original story appeared on Newsbeat on November 20th with the title “Do superstar DJs just press go on their live shows?” in which Newsbeat claims Calvin Harris said “I think it's not a problem. In the club you want to hear a produced piece of music, you want to hear the bass, you want to hear it as good as it can sound … I used to perform with a band putting all sorts of work into a live show and I can tell you that the reaction was worse than it is when I'm DJing.”
Is it shocking to you that DJs play records in their DJ sets?! Get a fucking grip RT @louiskuhnmccabe maybe you can press play on it?
