Much like going to the bathroom, it seems that girls like to produce music in pairs. Recently, one of those girl duos have done a cover of Chromeo's “Night By Night.” Don't know who it is? Here are a few clues:
1. They originated in Australia
2. They're both blonde-haired
3. It's NOT Nervo
For those that got stumped after the third clue, the answer is: Kito and Reija Lee. The producer/singer duo that have released music on admirable labels, like Skream's Disfigured Dubz and Diplo's Mad Decent Records, have taken Chromeo's highly-danceable electrofunk single, “Night By Night,” and turned it into a smooth trap song that's perfect for listening to while winding down after a long day. While the rhythm of the kicks, 808 snares, claps and fast high-hat patterns give this adaptation a trap-influenced backbone, the myriad of synth-lines and smooth pads- that paint a mural of a melody- is the flesh of the track, and Reija Lee's delicate, airy voice on the very top of it all is the beautiful skin for this cover.
