Dodge & Fuski – Stop What You’re Doing EP

UK dubstep players Dodge & Fuski want you to stop what you're doing and check out their new EP, Stop What You're Doing (warning: this may cause recursion). The four-song release on Disciple Recordings is a mighty fine way for Dodge & Fuski to leave their first mark on 2014.

Beginning with the eponymous song, “Stop What You're Doing,” the track is named after the classic Anchorman quote sampled in the song. The intro is chock-full of record scratching, and the drops brings forth some heavy and rambunctious oscillation, as well as some 808 cowbell action. The glitch-hop keeps going with the next track, “The Clap,” which has a funkier feel than the previous track; with brass-influenced synths, fat bass, and cool oscillation fills that “boomerang.” Next up is “Bringing Back Wobble,” which starts off as a cut-throat trap song, but at the drop, it indeed brings the wobble back — specifically, the old-school-style wobble that was prevalent during the salad days of a pre-Skrillex era of dubstep. The track also features a rap verse courtesy of Splitbreed. Finishing the EP is the McMash Clan remix of “Stop What You're Doing,” which turns the mid-tempo song into an electro-house tune with groovy, rumbling bass and glitchy, stuttering 4-bar breaks at the drops.

You can listen to the EP on Dodge & Fuski's Soundcloud page, and you can purchase the EP on Beatport.
