Shazam has come a long way ever since first introducing its app in 1999. Shazam began monetizing the app by offering means of purchasing the song after identifying it. Now Shazam has announced a new partnership with Warner Music Group that will bring about a Shazam label. The Shazam label will primarily be used for unsigned artists and will tap Warner Music Group's existing A&R reach with Shazam's fan activity data.
