“City Of Dreams” is one of my favorite songs from the summer of 2012 and has had me hooked to this day. The teaming up of Dirty South and Alesso seemed almost too good to be true. And, with the addition of vocals to the song, we were introduced to Ruben Haze. You might be asking yourself, “Who the hell is Ruben Haze???” Give it a quick google and you will find a Facebook page of 1,759 likes, a few Dirty South tracks featuring his vocals, and Dirty South's Wikipedia page. What's confusing is that there is no bio on this Ruben Haze guy.
It actually happens to be that Ruben Haze is a made up, fictitious moniker that represents the ongoing collaboration between Dirty South and Rudy Sandapa. You may recognize Rudy's vocals from hit tracks like “Phazing” and “Let it Go”, collaborating with Dirty South on both. Now, they will be releasing an EP under that moniker, with their lead song being a revamped, instrumental rendition of “City of Dreams”.
The track is a complete rearrangement of the original, containing an acoustic guitar, piano, and strings, topped off with extended vocals from Rudy. Other tracks on the EP include “Johnny Rocket Man”, “Phoenix”, and “One Way Ticket” featuring vocals from the British sensation, Example. Go ahead and check out the tracks they have posted to their Soundcloud page, and keep an eye out for the release of their EP.
