Its been far too long since we're heard anything new from 123MRK. This French producer makes bouncy dance tracks that live somewhere between house and funk, drawing beats from 2-step and samples from soul.
“Versatile,” a newly released single has all of 124MRK's familiar notes, and if they aren't familiar yet, your inability to stop playing these tracks will change that. Listen for the breathy synths (you’ll understand once you hear them) and longingly slurred vocal samples. They become mysterious percussive elements that give his tracks much of their life.
And according to this post on SoundCloud, he was just signed to Future Classic. They've built an impressive lineup of emerging talent and have made a solid edition with this producer whose work could fit in easily to a house, garage or futurebass set.
If you haven't heard 123MRK before, be sure to explore his SoundCloud page for past work. 123MRK's 2011 EP, Noname is also a wonderful place to start.
