Mysteryland USA is already one of the most anticipated festivals this coming summer. It is the first time the longest running EDM festival is going to be held in the United States as well as the first festival to be held at the historic Bethel Woods since Woodstock '69 (maybe you've heard of it). The line up boasts several big names including (among many more) Kaskade, Dillon Francis, Moby and Noisecontrollers.
When the mystery seeking attendees are not dancing or exploring the wide array of art installations they have a chance to see a special performance from mother nature herself. On May 24th or the early morning before the second day of the festival Earthsky.org has predicted a meteor shower:
“Comet 209P/LINEAR passed near the sun in 2009 and will pass near it again in early May, 2014. On the night of May 24, 2014 – if the predictions hold true – Earth might be sandblasted with debris from this comet, resulting in a fine display of meteors, or shooting stars.”
This particular meteor shower will most likely feature 100 too 400 meteors per hour, although there is a possibility of a meteor storm which at its peak will feature up to 1000 meteors an hour! The best viewing time will be at 3:30am. What an exciting way to kick off the festivals inaugural USA run, clearly the EDM gods are smiling down in approval.
