Australian label DIE HIGH Records continues to impress me with their constant releases of well produced gems. Staying in the same lane of dropping constant abstract bangers, earlier this week they had upcoming producer Ostra release two new records through the label and once again, they're very impressive. The first track “Won't Do” has extremely highenergy; pitched up vocals, zapping lazer-like synthesizers and a booming drum line that combine to create a sound reminiscent of other Aussie producers like Wave Racer or Night Cruse. This one sets the perfect good-mood-music vibe for this lovely Friday night. Moving onto the second song, “Zu-Zumba,” this one reminds me of some old school Bassnectar to the drops [ESPECIALLY the 2nd one], but the old style Mexican guitar shredding that start off this record are what really initially pulled me in. This one is very different, and that's why it is something that is remember-able. Dubstep circa 2009-2010 meets jumpy stabbing synths + chopped samples of guitar, cheering crowds and more. Check out the two latest releases by DIE HIGH Records by L.A. native Ostra below, and be sure to pick up the free download if you dig what you've heard.
