On May 17th, Deorro went to Twitter to announce that he will be quitting DJing. Erick Orrosquiesta “Deorro” says there's a number of reasons why he wants to quit. Those reasons include that he would rather produce music than to constantly be on the road spending time away from his family. “I'm not the center of attention kind of guy, I don't like being spoiled.”
Read his Twitter rant below:
I love producing music. And I want to do it more, so if there's opportunity to do it more, imma do it. Cuz I love it. Call me a sellout.

I just want you to know that I'm actually going to quit djing.

If selling out means a musician making money, does that mean a cook, a painter, a designer and everyone else is a sellout once they're paid?

I just want you to know that I'm actually going to quit djing.

1. Because it's keeping me away from my family, and it's making it difficult to do what I love, which is produce music. #FAM

2. I'm not the center of attention kind of guy, I don't like being spoiled.

3. As they said at the start of my career, "I'm not brand/artist material". I've proved to them that it's all about the music, not looks.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
4. I ditched the pandafunk crew I was helping, to go on tour. My family is set now, I have what I need. Time to return and get them touring.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
5. I've missed out on my two boys way too much now.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
6. Touring, being tired 80% of the time, always in a rush, having no time at all, is preventing from helping so many chasing the same dream.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
7. Quitting won't affect anything, other than me doing live performances in your city. In fact, I'll be able to release much more music.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
8. I'll have more time to produce more music. And there's nothing better than more music 😀
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
I promise, if I can pull off a panda funk tour, I will come back on the road. But I gotta help the need first. Cuz it's all about new talent
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
I once posted about helping many, at my peak, I once had 127 students around the world. I'm keeping my word, imma help as many as possible.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
We need more to focus on the upcoming talent, and not money. Pandafunk will do the best they can. And I believe helping can change lives.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
So call me a sellout as much as you want. I do certain things for the experience. I want to pass on my knowledge to who ever needs it.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
I said it from the start, my life goal is to help. I won't let this artist career get to my head and make me forget that.
— (@Deorro) May 18, 2014
Family and music. #FAM
