Hailing from across the pond, Sorrow is a Birmingham based ambient/grime/dubstep producer who stays true to his name with his newest endeavor, “Art Is Dead.” The first track of this EP is the title track, which has a wonderful little melody nestled inside of a rich bass line and kicks that remind me of wind-chimes. If you like this track then chances are the rest of the EP will be to your liking as this trend continues through out. Next up is “Paramount.” This track is a bit more somber than the previous and adds some airy vocals as a nice background to those signature kicks and bass line. Following “Paramount” is “Girl I Miss You.” Here Sorrow is bringing more vocals which provide a great feel for the entire track. “My Love” starts and ends with, a piano solo that I would consider to be a nice representation of the entire EP. Peaceful, yet with a distinct sense of sadness. Finally, we have a collaboration between Sorrow and Stumbleine called, “Snowflake.” This track is a bit more glitchier than the rest however it is a nice finish. Overall I really like this piece of work. The vibes, the airy vocals, and the bass lines all contribute to something that would a perfect fit for any rainy day.
