Frontliner continues his unprecedented summer project, “The Summer of Frontliner,” in a collaborative effort with hardstyle godfather Zany. “Shock” is the sixth in a 14 part series in which Frontliner releases a new track every week, and his second collaboration (the first being an odd couple pairing with Radical Redemption).
This is a more experimental track for Frontliner; instead of his typical pop-centric snyths and melodies, “Shock” is a more commanding song with powerful, blaring tuba-like synths with aggressive builds and releases.
Frontliner was working heavily on new material in the winter after installing a new home studio, and instead of releasing an album — which is a tough endeavour in EDM — Frontliner opted to released a track once a week from June 21 to September 23.
Frontliner has always had a progressive outlook on the Music Industry, and isn't afraid to experiment with new techniques in production and distribution of his content.
Check out below for TSOF release schedule. It's interesting to note that the 12th track is accompanied with a “;-)” emoji, which obviously signifies something special for that release.
