Just thought this should receive some news.
46 persons were medically treated on scene and 22 were transported to the hospital last weekend at a Keith Urban concert. Most likely our readers have never heard of Keith Urban. He's a country singer. His songs are the country equivalent of Kenny G – the farthest thing from hardcore you could possibly go. Total estimate of concert goers = 18,000. Not that we're comparing, but….
If EDM concerts were as crazy as this country music concert, we would see 350 hospitalizations per day. (This was not the “Keith Urban festival” but a 3 hour event, so actually 350 hospitalizations per every 3 hours). Which means country music fans either cannot hold their alcohol or EDM fans aren't nearly as irresponsible as country music fans. Or both.

**Note: This isn't to say it's not truly horrible when someone is injured or worse at a concert, where the main attraction is having a good time. It is to say that given the sheer size of EDM festivals, the number of hospitalizations or even arrests is shockingly low. Lower, in fact, than a country music concert. And I (the author) don't believe it requires the amount of coverage we've seen in the media. By the numbers, 99.9992% of persons who attend a festival, whether they drank or not, smoked or not, did drugs or not… go home alive and not in an ambulance. Those are pretty good odds, right?
