You may recognize the girl in the photo on the right as the girl from Robin Thicke's music video “Blurred Lines.” Now she and Zac Efron are being reported to star in an EDM focused film titled ‘We Are Friends.'
Over the past year, there have been many electronic dance music film productions in talks. Now MTV's Catfish series co-star Max Joseph is said to be directing ‘We Are Friends.'
“The film is a coming-of age-drama about finding your voice. It’s set in the worlds of electronic music and the Hollywood nightlife, where an aspiring 23-year-old DJ named Cole spends his days scheming with his childhood friends and his nights working on the one track that will set the world on fire. All of this changes when he meets a charismatic but damaged older DJ named James who takes him under his wing. Things get complicated, however, when Cole starts falling for James’ much younger girlfriend, Sophie. With Cole’s forbidden relationship intensifying and his friendships unraveling, he must choose between love, loyalty, and the future he knows he’s destined for. Good call, setting up a Saturday Night Fever-like story in EDM, a vastly popular pursuit with the young crowd that several studios are trying to capture on screen. She’s repped by Innovative Artists and Untitled Entertainment” – Mike Fleming Jr (Deadline).
