With his new floor-thumping single “Party Don't Stop” being released through Panda Funk on 7th October, we thought it would be the right time to get to know young electro producer Whyel a little better. With his debut single picked up by the mighty Dim Mak Records a while back, there seems to be no stopping this exciting artist. We hunted him down to find out his top five musical pleasures.
1) Kid Cudi – “Mr. Rager”
This is one of the most powerful songs to me. Really hits home in certain situations. I am a giant fan of Cudi's voice and he delivers it so well in the song.
2) Empire Of The Sun – “Country”
By far one of the most beautiful songs of all time. Theres been tons of times where I've sat under the stars or in a dark room and just blasted this song. The vibes are strong with this one.
3) Katy Perry – “Birthday“
Sorry not sorry, but this is one of the greatest pop songs of all time. It is so damn catchy! Plus Katy is my wife, she just doesn't know it yet.
4) Missy Elliot – “On and On”
Missy was a giant influence to me growing up. She always had the dopiest flows on top of sick ass timbo beats. And this song will forever get me dancing anytime of the day. The world needs more hip hop like this.
5) Christmas Carols
Christmas is the best time of the year, and to have a collection of music that just relays that feeling of joy and good times just doesn't get any better. From “Jingle Bell Rock” to “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, I just get filled with good vibes. Love it.
