Having been recently snapped by Deorro for a release on his Panda Funk label, the future is looking bright for the LA-based Duvoh. Their brand of thrilling electro house is bound to turn heads over the coming months – and you can find out a little more about them in our chat, below.
How would you describe your sound to someone is yet to hear the sound of Duvoh?
Very melodic, and emotional; but also with a touch of aggressive synths.
How did you go about writing ‘Darkness I Needed’? Did you give each other specific roles?
It was a pretty unique process, we had ideas that we would like to write about, and that’s how we went about it.
Outside of EDM, where do you take your musical influences?
From movie scores to latin music, classical music, hip hop and pretty much anything that really catches our attention we get influenced by.
You have been playing a lot of live shows recently, what was been your favourite live moment?
We have to say our most recent show in LA. It’s not everyday that you get to play in your hometown, and a sold out show. It was special because we really got a chance to show everyone what PandaFunk is all about.
Finally, do you prefer being in the studio or behind the decks?
It’s a complicated question because we love to do both things, but we would have to say being in the studio. That’s our favourite place to be and where we spend most of our time.
