Back in the 1970's, three Moog Modular synthesizers were released, changing the course of music forever. They were instrudmental in changing the way music was made, by helping develop contemporary soul, RnB, and disco.
With decades of electronic experiementation under our belts, Moog has decided to re-release these synthesizers for modern day music production with the hopes current artists and producers will explore the power of these traditional machines. The models will be released in limited quantities with 55 units of the System 55, 35 units of the System 35, and 150 units of the Model 15.
To celebrate the announcement of the instruments' revival, Moog has made a short film about the relationship artists have with modular synthesizers. Watch the video below to see the early beginnings of electronic Music Production and how it's evolved over the years.
