In about four weeks, Diplo and Steve Aoki will be among the headliners for a new event: the first “Air & Style” competition in the United States hosted by iconic professional snowboarder and skateboarder Shaun White. It will be at the famed Rose Bowl on February 21 and 22 in Pasadena, California. The music should give this event a huge extra boost.
Confirmed artists to be performing include Diplo and Steve Aoki not to mention Kendrick Lamar, Edward Sharpe, Magnetic Zeros, Phantogram, Portugal, and others. Diplo will perform on the 21st (Saturday) and Aoki will perform on the 22nd (Sunday). Complete schedule is coming soon.
The Air & Style competition will feature the world's best snowboarders, skiers and skateboarders. 16 snowboarders and 16 skiers will compete. 8 snowboarders were invited and the other eight qualified from last December's event in China. The competitors will be tackling a 16-story high, 450-foot long ramp and a 70-foot jump.
Fans can expect an amazing atmosphere at the event with an interactive kids area, a fashion show, technology, cuisine, gaming, and art displays. The last music act each night will start at 8 p.m.
KROQ is the presenting media partner, and Shaun White’s existing partners will also participate, including GoPro, Target, Oakley, Burton and Monkey Bars.
“I'm really excited that Air + Style LA keeps getting better,” said White. “I can't wait to hear all these incredible acts perform at the Rose Bowl this February!!”
