Tomorrowland fans from all around the globe have been waiting anxiously for the festival's first artist announcement. Earlier today, Tomorrowland surprised everyone with their video announcement on their Facebook page. The National Orchestra of Belgium, led by Swiss conductor Stefan Blunier, will perform as ‘The Symphony of Unity'. Although most fans were expecting one of the usual suspects like Tiesto or Carl Cox, many welcome the change.
Similar examples in the past year such as Pretty Lights performing at Red Rocks with 13 members of the Colorado Symphony and Above & Beyond‘s full acoustic album/tour with a 24-piece orchestra received astonishing reviews and show that there is a demand for such a genre.
The video announcement states ‘One musical world, where two genres merge.', which makes the handle ‘The Symphony of Unity' very fitting.
Also mentioned is the announcement of a new stage. Sunday is known for the soul-feeling Trance, and now Tomorrowland goers will also experience the similar vibes of ‘The Opera Stage'.
