YouTube comments are garbage. We all know it, but we can't help but look at them. However, when I opened the YouTube link to Paper Diamond‘s debut track, ‘We Gone', from his new ‘Rain Drops' EP I saw one of the first comments that stood out saying “Paper Diamond. The Trap DJ?”. I admit I too went into this track expecting a fast tempo track with a huge bass line. I was pleasantly surprised when I was hit instead with the down-to-Earth vocals of Shoffy paired with some catchy synths that didn't overwhelm the overall majestic feel that Paper Diamond was shooting for. Speaking of majestic, it's only fitting that the debut of ‘We Gone' was released on Majestic Casual.
Paper Diamond is among the many artists these days trying out new genres (see our interview with Vaski covering his experience with different genres). I fully support Paper Diamond on this new track! Although the overall sound is different than his usual stuff, you can pick out Paper Diamond's trademark samples and vibe which is always stellar.
