Having met Derek Anders and Scott Land and seeing how genuinely humble and down to earth guys they are, its hard not to be bias whenever I hear their new music, but they’re simply on their way to establishing Slander as one of the greatest bass music acts of all time. While I can’t say I’ve met Tyler from NGHTMRE, I will say that he has one of the hardest and most elite styles in dance music. Together they’ve already given us gold with last years enormously alluring Ascension and they’re keen on spoiling us even more this year, starting with Warning.
The larger than life bass and kickdrums are retained as well as the epic and extensive builds. Warning’s rhythm is more complex however, containing numerous, heavy electro syths, which creates quite the crazy concoction of sound but not overdone or obnoxious. The sheer scale of this tune is through the roof, and while it may sacrifice a bit of the heartthrob element that Ascension had, it more than makes up for with the fun factor. It’s hard not to rock out with beats this massive, and as a free download, what more could you ask for?
