My favorite techno is the kind that leans heavily on the electronica side. There’s never a need to change the genres signature groove but it’s always nice when the song takes you on a long and winding journey rather than a bunch of ups and downs. This is what you’ll find with Danny Daze’s new EP Four, which contains (take a while guess!) four very riveting and soulful collaborations.
Each tune has a dark and mechanical sense, especially Las Caderas with 214, which is a lot longer and intense while Drowning and Chain Breaker are more deep and hypnotic. The back sheep of the bunch, Hex, which featuring Dutch producer Drvg Cvltvre, flows at a slower tempo but creating a funky yet still incredibly techy beat. Overall the EP is phenomenal and delivers the authentic underground sound with staggeringly good production.
