2015 has been a pivotal year for AutoErotique and the style of dance music he's dealing out. Having built his repertoire with Dim Mak-branded big house and electro in the past few years, it was a bit of a shock when AutoErotique's production style started to figuratively shrink, sonically speaking. But AutoErotique's new groove proves that size matters not on the dance floor, and his new single, Be There, is a testament to that.
A classic garage beat and droning vocal textures lead to the woozily-downpitched sampled vocal verse, accompanied with a 90s-era synth. After the buildup, metallic hits reinforce the main synth melody to give it more punch, which then hands the baton to a more distorted synth sound. As the middle break introduces garbled beeps flowing in spastic bursts, they stabilize into a proper arpeggio pattern as the sampled vocal verse returns with syncopated kicks and claps, building back up into another drop.
