Beatport exclusively premeired a trailer for a new film today called “Eden,” which is based on a similar storyline to the careers of Daft Punk's members and many of their songs are used in the film. News broke about their involvement last year, and they have 3 tracks confirmed for use in “Eden.” The full soundtrack will also include Joey Beltram, Paul Johnson, Frankie Knuckles, and Octave One.
Directed by Mia Hansen-Løve, “Eden” is finally coming to the United States on June 19th. The film is being called “a tribute to house music” and some reviews even suggest the film seems like going to a rave.
Mia Hansen-Løve wrote the film based on the experiences of her co-writer and brother (in real life) Sven, who was part of the club scene in the 90's. The film's main character is Paul (played by Felix de Givry), who is a teen in the early 90's in Paris – capturing his highs and lows. With the vibe of nightclub life and a fast-paced plot, it's an exciting homage to a part of music history that explored the evolution of “modern disco” from the heart of the source.
The film hits the United States on June 19, set to premiere in New York and LA. Watch the trailer below.
