Kill Paris' Galaxies Between Us Tour landed at The Loft in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
We had the opportunity to meet up with Kill Paris for sound check at The Loft earlier that afternoon. We also had the great surprise of meeting Kill Paris' opener, Louis Futon. As Kill Paris and Louis Futon chatted and looked out The Loft's window overlooking downtown Minneapolis, light adjustments and unpacking equipment were taking place on stage. When it was time for Kill Paris to test some sound, he broke out the keytar and busted out a little “Careless Whisper” for us to enjoy.
Minneapolis was just one of his many stops on this tour to promote his newest EP, Galaxies Between Us (Tour Dates). Louis Futon was the opening set, full of energy and countless bangers. Louis got everybody turnt and hypnotized with the lights flashing about on his CNTRL:R. His set took us through chanting anthems to high energy bouncing. Before we realized, we were engulfed by a huge crowd and radiating body heat.
With everyone warmed up and sweating, Kill Paris started his intro. Deep rumbles and radio noise start fading in on the sound system. Standing next to the speakers definitely gave the impression of being on a space craft taking off. After a successful take off flight, the funk rang in with force and everyone was jumping. The most memorable part of the set would have to be the breakdown into the original version of, “Return of the Mack“. The track just fit into the set like a warm knife into butter.
Overall, the night was a successful mission, from take off to landing. Make sure you check the tour dates to get your chance at experiencing it for yourself. If you'd like to delve a bit more deeply into the mind behind the music, Check out this interview we had with Corey, here.
