This past weekend, San Francisco welcomed a legend in the hardstyle scene. The one and only Noisecontrollers got to take on ControlSF at Ruby Skye. One of LA’s biggest weekly events now has a second home in San Francisco and it’s a great pleasure to get a variety of genres every week. For this night, Noisecontrollers got his first taste of the legendary venue that is Ruby Skye. The club has hosted many world class artists like Hardwell, Above & Beyond, Headhunterz, and more recently thanks to Control SF, Coone and Brennan Heart.
Ruby Skye itself can be a nice intimate show which was expected for the night. You can get a great view of the DJ booth from anywhere in the two story venue and the sound and lighting are top notch. The opening artist for the night, Fargo, played a great variety from heavy electro to some harder subground. The dance floor was getting full and the crowd was getting loud at the time hit 12:30. Chants for Noisecontrollers began as he took the stage and finally the BPM’s raised. There’s just something about hardstyle pounding through speakers and shaking a venue. Some might turn away, but for us, it’s pure bliss. Bas has been hard at work in the studio getting ready to release his next studio album ‘All Night Long’ which will focus on assorted studio material from 2013-2015. Time away in the studio doesn’t affect him whatsoever when it comes to playing a set. The man is quick on the decks and plays what fans wanted. To our excitement, we got some throwback tracks in the night as well as songs from his newest album, ‘All Around’.
Down Down, Rocked Up, Feel So Good, and World of Madness were all tracks that made the crowd go especially wild. Looking around and seeing the smiles and joy Bas brings to a crowd is really magical. His old tracks, his new tracks, and everything in between sets the bar high for hard dance and it clearly shows when playing live. His next album ‘All Night Long' is going to be a great gift to us and will really show the growth over the years. Thank you to Noisecontrollers and thank you to Control SF for a wonderful night for hard dance fans. San Francisco has a growing hardstyle scene and we hope it only gets bigger and better from here.
