Yesterday in Michigan, Skrillex impressed on stage with bluegrass rock group The String Cheese Incident during Electric Forest Music and Arts Festival. During their 3 hour set, String Cheese Incident covered a variety of classics including The Doors. Skrillex joins in just in time to jam with the band during their psychedelic cover of the tune, “Break On Through (to the Other Side),” a 1966 Doors classic – along with “L.A. Woman.”
Playing guitar and singing with String Cheese Incident is not the first time Skrillex has joined a band and it won't be the last (no pun intended – his rise to fame started with punk band “From First to Last”).
Skrillex played MC as a gracious entertainer as he usually does – thanking everyone working including the people “cleaning the bathrooms and cooking your food”… The Colorado based band String Cheese Incident will play the next two days of the festival as well. We'll have to wait and see if other artists join in with their full band (Keith Moseley, Michael Travis, Kyle Hollingsworth, Jason Hann, Michael Kang, Billy Nershi) during the final minutes. Bassnectar is set to close after the group on Sunday.
Special thanks to Martin Singer for giving us permission to upload this video he caught during the live stream.
