Spotify has just announced that every Monday morning, a personalized, automated playlist will be available to every listener. The playlist is two hours long and customized to match each person's distinct music taste based on songs they have liked, as well as tracks people with similar preferences have favorited.
“High Fidelity’s Rob Gordon had it right — the making of a mixtape is a very subtle art. That’s why we created Discover Weekly,” says Gustav Söderström, Spotify’s VP of product. “There’s never been a simpler, more personalized way to discover music, with every playlist tuned just to you every single week.”
Monday mornings just got better for those on Spotify. With ‘Discover Weekly', music becomes more personal and accessable to listeners. Spotify explains that the more songs you listen to during the week, the better the system can detect which songs to include in your playlist.
