It's the middle of summer in bustling downtown San Diego where a massive crowd awaits patiently clutching posters of signs saying, “You've Saved My Life” and “Let Me Push The Button” as they all huddle together in excitement anticipating a show at the brand new Omnia San Diego.
The legendary Above and Beyond had drawn a crowd of dedicated fans together for a sold out show last Thursday night. You could sense the excitement from the attendees the second you stepped into the new state of the art venue, which crammed full of loyal fans all there to embrace the beautiful, progressive sounds of Above and Beyond.

The opening DJ started off with popular and energetic big room tunes to get the crowd moving and dancing. The dance floor was already jammed packed way before midnight, a good sign for any successful night. Tony and Paavo surprised the crowd by hitting the decks at around 11:30 PM, stepping on stage with huge smiles across their faces ready to begin the night.
The lights dimmed as inspirational quotes lit up the back LED screens, a usual Above and Beyond tradition, as tunes like “Peace of Mind” and “Were All We Need” had the entire venue singing together in unison. A surreal experience to see strangers and friends come together in a club setting, bringing an ora of passionate vibes across the room. As the set progressed the duo threw in a beautiful vintage OceanLab track that stunned in the audience simultaneously, and old favorite of many veteran fans . The set kept up a constant pace of energy, as the two played a diverse mix of brand new releases from Anjunabeats superstar Sunny Lax to classic club tunes such as “England” from Andrew Bayer. A personal highlight of the night was when “Alchemy” was played, a fan favorite that riled up the audience to shout the lyrics all together as glowing light sticks waved together to create a picturesque scene.
