As the streaming service SoundCloud begins to truly evolve, some new information in a report from Forbes is helping shape their fanbase and create some buzz. This new list reveals the top 10 most played artists on Soundcloud. Check out the full list below.
This report says a lot about who is streaming music on the service and what that says about the audience of various artists. Hip-hop and rap producers have tended to dominate Soundcloud's platform with individual track plays – but EDM plays a strong role as well. Major Lazer has burst into the forefront of this category with a strong 2015 that included their new album (not to mention the network it's leader Diplo has created with Jack U and other projects) along with the hit single “Lean On.” G-Eazy comes in strong at #3 and Kygo leads the tropical house wave that is ever-relevant to round out the top five here.
