28-year-old John Dalback is taking the scene by storm. The young artist has made his mark as a label owner, producer, DJ, and remixer under the world renown music label ULTRA. In fact, in his 11 year long career there isn't much John hasn't done…
I had the privilege of interviewing John before his set at Space Ibiza, and was able to get a glimpse inside the life of the talented musician.
John started producing at a very young age, he was influenced heavily by his cousin Jesper…
“I got into house music from my cousin who was into techno. When I was 12, or 13 I started setting up demos. When I was 14 I had my record deal.”
By beginning at such a young age it is no wonder why John has achieved so much success. One of his most recent songs is progressive house tune, “Raven”. John Dalback speaks about the production process of the hit song and the feeling of what it's like to get support from big names such as Avicii…
“I did it after a show, it took me three hours, and then when I listened to it the next day I was really happy.. I think it's a really danceable track. It's nice [to get so much support], I didn't know what to expect because it's quite a different song. Everyone started to premiere it and then it took off from there.”
Playing at venues all over the world, there isn't much John Dalback hasn't seen…
“The craziest thing I've seen at a concert was when there was this guy in a wheelchair, and the people lifted him up. He was ontop of everyone, and then they brough him onstage and put him on the stage. It was very emotional to see him so happy, it was really nice.”

What inspires John to produce is his motivation to try many different styles of music…
“I try to take the music as far as I can and to not try to do one style over and over again, I want to do all types of music.”
John Dalback may not necesarily enjoy collaborations, but the ones he has done have been worth the effort.
“I've done a few, the most recent ones are with Kaskade and Dash Berlin. I don't like to do collabs necessarily, but it's very easy when it's over emails… the only studio collab I did was with Avicii a while ago…”
