The streaming service Soundcloud has been in the process of some major changes and plenty of artists are frustrated with the platform's new policies and occasional takedowns. We can now add Hardwell to the list of artists who expressed displeasure with Soundcloud publicly.
In what tweets are now deleted, Hardwell published the following: “@SOUNDCLOUD Please guys, get your shit together. I keep getting copyright problems while it's released on my own label.”
Hardball's label, Revealed Recordings, has been active since 2010 on the Berlin-based streaming service.
See the tweet and a response from Soundcloud support team as well.
Hardwell is not the first artist to have issue with Soundcloud over the past three or four months. Baauer‘s hit track, “Harlem Shake,” was removed just a few weeks ago in September.
Stay tuned for more News about Soundcloud as they continue to dive into new policies. A major factor in the bedroom producer age of electronic music, their service has allowed many tracks to slide into public domains without much regulation. That seems to be changing.
