The city of Chicago and a small island off the coast of Croatia couldn’t be more poles apart if they tried. Yet one plays an integral part on the music of the other, if this latest track is anything to go by. Out now on the mighty Ultra Music, Chicago based producer Kiso transports you to the Adriatic Sea on his brand new single “Hvar” – a small island located in the waters around Croatia.
He starts proceedings with some sun kissed percussion and piano chords before it breaks down; filtered strings seep through before MSP enters with a jazzy sax solo, which permeates a lot of the track. The production here is interesting – melodic, and almost Bonobo-esque use of instruments in parts.
