Skrillex has been very busy lately traveling the globe on his latest Asia/India tour. On his last stop in Gurgaon, India, a concert goer suffered intense injuries during the show that ultimately resulted in death.
23 year old Aanchal Arora was attending the concert with her friend when she went into cardiac arrest from suffocation, which was ruled the cause of death. Ramesh Pal, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, confirmed that Arora didn't have an pre-existing illnesses that would have contributed. The friend who accompanied Aanchal also suffered injuries and is still in critical condition.
The show was set to host 5,000 attendees, but actual attendance was over 10,000 resulting in intense overcrowding. Clockword Events, may be to blame for the suffocation that took the young girls life. The Commissioner commented on the unfortunate tragedy,
‘It depends on what the true story is. If they did indeed over-sell tickets and pack the venue beyond capacity, then it is negligence on the organizer’s part'.
It's unfortunate incidences like these continue to occur. Capacity restrictions are set for a reason and in an incredibly populated country like India, it's important that these regulations are followed for this exact reason.
