Q: How did Deep Mix Nation and XYPO all get started?
Hello, thank you for having me. I was running few music projects at the time. Mostly electro house and edm related, but got bored of these genres so I decided launch new deep house channel on youtube with mainly deep house mixes. After uploading first 2 episodes I realized its not working out the way I wanted so I took break and few weeks later started push it really hard and here we are now.
Q: When did you fall in love with dance music & deep house?
As long as I remember myself. Music has always been around me. It took some time to understand what I really like. To be honest I wouldn’t be able to tell you what my favorite genre is. You can find really cool tracks in all genres.
Q: Who are some of your favorite artists right now?
Autograf is on fire right now for me Loving all the latest stuff. I really enjoy checking out new artists. The ones on the rise and see how they develop. Im big fan of MÖWE as well.
Q: How do you find the music to post to your channel and in your mixes?
It’s easy now as I’m getting quite a lot of demos and promos. But I also went through browsing soundcloud and spending hours and days to find good music. But It was great experience. I prefer play new music in my sets rather than beatport top 100 It gives really cool vibe to channel in general and gives sort of signature to DeepMixNation. And I really feel that people can appreciate it. There are tons of good tracks in charts, but if playing them in every episode it would become boring for audience so always trying play new, cool and exclusive music.
Q: How have you seen YouTube change?
Hehe, It’s getting harder and harder because of competition. Seems everyone want run music channel novadays 😀 But it’s part of progress. Everything is changing. Youtube as platform, music in general is changing. And it’s part of game so it’s really cool to see how things change with time. It’s amazing watch new talents rising, new genres develop and keeping yourself in loop.
