There is an incredible amount of amazing tracks being released everyday with some extremely promising producers behind them, but all too often many of these artists fail to follow up their breakout hits and end up fading away. This has not been the case for Los Angeles trance extraordinaire, Johnny Yono. The Detroit born, actor-turned-musician, has been producing electronic music of a half a dozen years and has consistently added to his now accomplished discography, which includes releases on many of the industry's biggest imprints including Enhanced, Black Hole Recordings, and Armada.
“Highways Of Valhalla” marks Johnny's debut on Antillas' sub-label, IHU, and draws inspiration from this years blockbuster action hit, Mad Max: Fury Road. Yono's recent works have leaned towards the heavier, progressive trance sound but the melody is more reminiscent of the classic, uplifting flavor. It's a triumphant and cinematic tune that reflects Johnny's larger than life taste in dance music, while still hoisting musicality as the top priority. Even with his huge EP on Perfecto Fluoro and the Lange 200 special, “Highways Of Valhalla” stands out as one of the producers highlight works this year and an overall stellar dance track.
