The unique, British-based streaming service Mixcloud is making some big moves lately despite making any adjustments to their model or website. Launching a new app for Apple TV this week, Mixcloud becomes the first of its kind to break through into the TV market as a web-based music streaming service (joining the likes of VEVO and YouTube).
Matt Clayton, co-founder of Mixcloud, had this to say:
“We're excited to be on the new Apple TV platform as it launches. The living room is a big opportunity for Mixcloud. We've got a great catalogue of shows to entertain people at home both alone and with friends, and we've built the product to be simple and intuitive with a more lean back experience than our other apps.”
We'll have to see how this app translates into success for Mixcloud, whose platform has become a popular alternative to users from SoundCloud and Spotify.
