In just a few weeks, the Dominican Republic’s stand-out festival, Electric Paradise, will make its triumphant return to the shores of Punta Cana. The PAV Events-produced festival is only celebrating its second year, but they are not holding anything back, offering an impressive mixture of music, design, food, art, and technology to turn Cape Cana into a true land of paradise. For its second running, Electric Paradise is expanding to feature multiple stages with not only electronic, but also live and underground components.
The entire Electric Paradise lineup is impressive, as the Dominican festival will be welcoming over twenty world class artists, including international heavyweights like Major Lazer, Skrillex, and Diplo, underground luminaries like Nicolas Jaar and Gorgon City, and homegrown talent like Lash and Dav Motta. One of the most esteemed artists on the Electric Paradise lineup is the underground house maven, and Taken mastermind, Hot Since 82.
Daley Padley, better known as Hot Since 82, has only been making music since 2011, but he has quickly become one of dance music’s most prestigious artists. Few artists have dominated dance music’s underground scene like the Yorkshire-based producer has been able to, championing an underground “vinyl” sound with his reputable Knee Deep In Sound imprint. Padley has made appearances with marathon sets at iconic nightclubs like Exchange LA and Space in Ibiza, in addition to being invited for two special Essential Mixes.
Hot Since 82’s live sets are truly magical, as the immensely talented DJ takes listeners on an aural journey through bouncy four-on-the-floor breaks and heady tech-house, deftly blending different styles and genres with ease. This year, Padley unveiled his “Taken” party concept, where attendees were blindfolded and taken to a secret venue for a special Hot Since 82 set. Even though Padley is already one of the most iconic artists in house music, his potential for growth is endless, and Hot Since 82 is one of our can’t-miss artists at Electric Paradise.
