According to a report by the Japanese blog Macotakara, Apple is apparently getting ready to release a new audio format that has more than twice the sound quality of a CD.
According to “several insiders familiar with Apple,” Apple is developing hi-res audio streaming up to 96kHz/24-bit compared to a CD and hi-res streamers TIDAL which is sampled at 44.1KHz/16-bit.
According to the report, the Apple Hi-Res Audio format will be available to Apple Music subscribers in 2016.
