The Lone Star State is known for a lot of things. The Alamo, and remembering it, King of the Hill, Cowboy Hats, over sized cuts of beef and competitions about the time it takes to consume them, but we can now add dance music to the list. U.M.E. South Padre (Ultimate Music Experience) is a festival that takes place over spring break in Texas‘ number one spring break location. This festival brings together two giant forces of nature in the realm of partying. In one corner you have the spring breakers, in the other you have the festival attendees. This match up makes for an insanely decadent and depraved party that has no intention of stopping because of tradition inhibitors like time of day, or say…exhaustion.
This year's line up is some kind of special. It brings the biggest names from every genre and smacks them together over the course of 4 days at the legendary Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark. South Padre Island plays host to over 100,000 spring breakers. This is a recipe for one of the largest parties on earth.
The schedule of days is as follows:
PRE-PARTY WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16:
DJ Snake – Big Gigantic – Keys N Krates – Jackal
THURSDAY, MARCH 17
Headliner TBA – Galantis – Jauz – Zaxx
FRIDAY, MARCH 18
Porter Robinson (Live) – 3LAU – Sam Feldt – Sigala
SATURDAY, MARCH 19
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – Borgeous – Marshmello – Tigerlily
As you can see the Thursday headliner spot is still open. This makes for an endless list of possibilities when it comes to artists able to fill the opening. Tickets start around $120 and can be purchased here. South Padre Island makes for a really special location for the festival as it is host to a diversity of local activities framed with natural beauty. A wide array of restaurants, water sports, live music hot spots, bars and other activities are available throughout the week.
As a heads up, as stated before South Padre Island is a resort and spring break location. So if you plan on attending U.M.E. this year. You need to immediately book a hotel and travel arrangements. Follow U.M.E. Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date with all the news. Check out the trailer for this year below to get excited for the party that is coming in March.
