Countdown 2015 [Fest Raiders]

With 2015 now behind us, Insomniac has put on yet another amazing event to ring in the new year in Countdown. I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate than by being surrounded by my cousin and some of the most loving people in the world; all you headliners.

Instead of having both Countdown and White Wonderland, Insomniac decided to focus on making Countdown bigger, having a total of 3 stages (Resolution, Infinity, and Quantum). Even though the Resolution and Infinity stages were both outdoors, it didn't stop any of us from dancing and singing our hearts out as a crowd of 30,000 came out in full force.

Although traffic was a bit heavy, we managed to get inside just in time to catch Yellow Claw, who in my opinion had the best set. They played a lot of new music off of their new Blood For Mercy album. Their song “Lifetime,” which they collaborated with Tiesto on, was one of my favorites of the night. They played other incredible songs like “Till It Hurts” ft Ayden and “Legends” with Cesqeaux and Kalibwoy. They also played a few of their remixes, including their remix of Headhunterz‘s “Colors.” They played everything I wanted to hear and I danced so much that I'm still sore!

I had to take a break after Yellow Claw‘s set because it was hot in the middle of the crowd and I was in a bear onesie, but it didn't last very long. Flux Pavilion was up next and I lost my rave family as soon as I heard him drop “I Can't Stop” because I bolted into the crowd to dance some more. The biggest surprise of the night came from Carnage. I'm not the biggest Carnage fan in the world. To be honest, I thought I was going to miss his set because my rave family wanted to go check out Alison Wonderland. The second Carnage started playing Hardstyle, I knew I had to stay! I jumped around with the crowd and everyone lost it when he dropped Showtek‘s “FTS (Fuck The System)!” Papi Gordo didn't disappoint me and I was ecstatic that I was able to have some Hardstyle on New Year's Eve.

DJ Snake began his set as we rang in the new year and he threw down a set to remember. He played his hits like “Get Low,” “Lean On,” and “Turn Down For What.” He also mixed in Adele's “Hello” and Drake's “Hotline Bling” to mix things up, and even threw in “Circle of Life” from The Lion King. Closing out the night was the one and only Kaskade, who's set had me on an emotional roller coaster. He opened up with “Move For Me,” his hit collaboration with deadmau5, and it only got better. He played “Disarm You,” “Never Sleep Alone,” and more as the night went on. It was definitely a memorable way to end the night, being surrounded by the ones you love and singing and dancing in unison as we welcomed the new year.
Countdown was a major success. Pasquale's and Insomniac's mission to make it THE event to be at for New Year's Eve was accomplished. From the ice skating rink, to the Kandi making station for the VIPs. From the three AMAZING stages to the craft beer and illuminated trees. Insomniac and Pasquale did it once again and I can't imagine any other way to celebrate New Year's Eve.
