What an eventful few days it's been for the King of Trolls, Joel Zimmerman, aka deadmau5. Earlier in the week, he dropped ‘the carp is mine,' which is a remix of Jay Z‘s ‘The City Is Mine' and ‘fuck you too,' a remix of the Beastie Boys‘ ‘Hey F*?# You.'
In true deadmau5 fashion, he avoided the Grammy Awards “because I didn't work with any popstars this year. and the general public doesn't find EDM interesting without one,” which was posted on his twitter. Instead, he stayed in his studio, where he returned to his signature Progressive sounds and produced his newest tracks, ‘gg' and ‘saved.' Both are in the 8 to 10 minute range, but differ greatly. ‘gg' starts off with a slow build up that leads into a minimal, darker bounce and ‘saved' starts off with an eerie, gradual progression that fans of his 2009 hit, ‘Strobe,' are sure to love.
And finally, UMF released Phase 2 of their lineup and it seems that Joel will be playing at A State Of Trance at Ultra Music Festival 2016, where he'll be playing before Eric Prydz and Armin van Buuren.
