Back in the year 2015, two women were pronounced dead after their festival experience at HARD Summer, which was held in the Pomona Fairplex.
Following the events that occurred at HARD Summer, the County of Los Angeles fought long and hard about having music festivals within its city limits. On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors declined to ban music raves outright, voting instead to move forward with an ordinance that allows case-by-case consideration of music events expected to draw 10,000 or more people.
The newly revised restriction list following the decision not to ban raves will include drug-sniffing dogs, at least four peace officers per 1,000 attendees, banning backpacks and large purses and enforcing a minimum of 18 years of age.
Despite these restrictions, HARD Summer has decided to return once again in 2016, although the Fairplex has no plans to invite the promoter back its venue this year.
HARD has plans to announce a lineup and venue for its 2016 edition of HARD Summer.
