Dance music's popularity has reached new heights and now the mainstream television networks want to cater a music channel directly to EDM fans. The new network EDMtv dedicated exclusively to dance music will go live on Monday, March 14th via DirectTV during Miami Music Week.
EDMtv's programming will include documentaries, broadcast news, 3D festival streaming and scripted shows. EDMtv is now expected to reach roughly 21 million households worldwide.
“The people, the places, the deals, the real stories that are alive in the scene is what we're after. We want to incubate, stimulate and dedicate ourselves to this task,” said the network's founder Matt Bolton. “It really is an honor to become the first network ever to do content that is specific to electronic music and the culture it nourishes.”
